My favorite song
그전보단 조금은 단단해진 빛나는 정수리에 박수를
옷섶을 풀어헤치듯 방만했던 입술에 추억의 눈물을
젊은 날을 함께 보내었던 그대와 나의 노래 몇 소절이
가녀린 영혼과 가슴에 닿아 봄비가 되어준다는 사실이
그 얼마나 놀랍고 고맙고 사랑스러운 것인지.
아. 인생은 얼마나 가볍고도 한가한 것인지.
삶에 고하는 Message
나의 작업은 유희로부터 시작된다.
시를 짓는 것이다. 노래하는 것이다.
현상 너머의 현상, 꿈 너머의 꿈 사랑 너머의 사랑.
구름 너머의 구름, 꽃 너머의 꽃, 새 너머의 새, 사람 너머의 사람.
그 모든 것들이 하나라고 하는 사실이 우리의 눈에는 절대로 하나로 보이지 않는다.
하여 화가인 나는 그 모든 것에 가장 가까운 친숙한 형상을 빌어
결국에는 하나인 것을 환영으로 증명하려는 것이다. 섞이지 않는 것들을 섞으려 하는 것이다.
구름이 꽃으로, 꽃이 새로, 새가 사람으로, 사람이 사랑으로, 사랑이 꿈으로,
시가 글씨로 글씨가 그림으로 보이게 한다거나 또는 느끼게 한다거나.
그 반대이거나. 그 모두이거나.
때로는 거절하고도 싶은 존재와 부재, 교합과 부정교합에 대한 진실에 고하는 메세지를
수 없이 쓰고 또 쓰고 싶은 것이다.
이름하여 꿈꾸는 것이다. 꿈속에 나타난 꿈을 좇듯.
그림이라는 이름으로, 세상 모두이거나 아무것도 아닌 것들을.
이러한 변증의 작용이 낯설고 팽팽한 불화(不和)의 긴장으로 울림이 되고
이러한 모순이 바로 인생임을 말하고 당신과 내 삶의 에너지가 되기를 바라는 것이다.

My favorite song
Applaud the shiny crown of the head firmer than before
Shed tears over memory of the indulgent lips like a loose and open hem
The songs from the days of our youth together
Wet our weak souls as does the spring rain
How surprising, grateful and loveable it is.
Ah, life is light as cakes and ale.
Message to life
My work starts from play.
It is constructing and singing poetry.
Phenomenon beyond phenomenon, dream beyond dream, love beyond love,
cloud beyond cloud, bird beyond bird, human beyond human.
We are unable to see through our eyes that all these are one.
As an artist I borrow the most familiar form
proving that all is evidently one through illusion. Combining what cannot be combined.
Cloud becomes flower, flower becomes bird, bird becomes human, human becomes love, love becomes dream,
Poem becomes words then words are perceived or felt as a painting,
or it is the opposite. or it is everything
Though on occasion I wish to refuse, I am fueled by desire to continuously write the truthful message on presence and absence, union and separation.
It is called dreaming, chasing a dream within a dream.
In the name of a painting, everything of this world or nothing of this world
These dialectic acts resonates the heightened and foreign tension of disharmony
These contradictions explain life and hope to become the source of energy for you and for me.
